It offers a structured collection of agricultural concepts, terms, definitions and relationships which are used to unambiguously identify resources, allowing standardized indexing processes and making searches more efficient.

The April 2024 version of the AGROVOC thesaurus has been released. It now contains 41 295 concepts and 1 148 206 terms, in up to 42 languages.
